I am so excited to be sharing today’s post with y’all! I had been wanting to get microblading done for a really REALLY long time. I’ve had very “soft” eyebrows all of my life, and up until I got microblading done, I had been spending an unreasonable amount of time trying to get my eyebrows to look normal and even. Not gonna lie, there were some pretty embarrassing eyebrow-filling phases of my life. But I digress. What I really want to talk about today is my NEW brows!
After stalking Catie’s Instagram (and doing some research – aka messaging any of my girlfriends that had previously been to Siren Skincare) I knew that I was ready to bite the bullet and go for it. Catie and I set up a consultation where we met – and let me tell you, she is the sweetest, most welcoming soul! We talked a little bit about what I could
expect and what some of my options were. I felt really comfortable in her care, so we made an appointment for a couple weeks out and once the day came – so did the butterflies! I was SUPER excited to finally feel like I’m comfortable with my eyebrows, which for me meant being comfortable and confident with zero makeup on.
The microblading appointment took about two hours from start to finish. First Catie and I talked about what what my dream brows would look like for me and she got to work, mapping out my brows. She took the time to do a lot of measuring and marking to make sure that my brows would be super symmetrical. Once she got a good shape and placement – I gave the OK that I loved them, and we got started! At Siren Skincare there are several options, including powder brows, combo brows and microblading. I wanted a more detailed and natural look so I went with the microblading which is basically individual strokes.
I got a few questions on the process that I wanted to cover! If there is anything that you want to know that I didn’t mention here please feel free to reach out to me! It’s my goal to be a resource here.
What is MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a semi-permanent form of tattooing. It’s great for adding some fullness to your brows!
Where did you get them done?
I went to Siren Skincare! I saw the owner, Catie and I am very happy with my experience there! Catie is local to Tucson, AZ. If you are local, definitely check out her website and instagram and book an appointment! (I believe she is also open to traveling as well, given the right circumstances – but you would have to talk to her personally about that!)
Does it hurt?
Happy to say that microblading is not painful! It’s about the same level as getting your eyebrows waxed, but slowly if that makes any sense. Catie does also have a numbing cream so that helps!
How long does it last?
This part really depends on your skin type. Typically microblading can last anywhere from 1-3 years. I have dry skin, so it should be on the longer side for me. If your skin is on the oily side, you can expect it to be on the shorter side. It really varies person to person!
What is the aftercare process?
Immediately following the appointment, I wiped my brows about every hour (Catie provided the wipes for me) and I also applied a balm over them when needed! I will leave the aftercare instructions here for you to look over! Basically, keep them clean and avoid using any product near or on them during the healing process.
Like I said, if you have any other questions at all feel free to reach out to me, or Catie!
