Some of the most dangerous lies that we listen to are the ones we tell ourselves. We allow our self-doubt and our lack of confidence to hold us back from going after our goals, pursuing our dreams, and most importantly – the plans that God has for us.
Would you believe it if I told you that sometimes, we believe our own selves OVER what God says? We put our own truths, our perception of reality before His truth. But I’m here to remind you of what He says about your life and who you are.

If you are confident in who God is you will become confident in who you are.
He says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. That you are His masterpiece. You are washed clean. Forgiven and set apart. You are a child of God and you are loved.
You are ALL of these things. But you may never experience the fullness of God’s promises for your life if you don’t believe in who He says that you are. It can be difficult at times and through trials to believe in more for our lives but remember, Jesus said that He came to give us life and life abundant.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
God made you with a purpose. Yes, you. Your individuality, your giftings, your personality – they are all a part of that purpose! Nobody else in this world is YOU and that’s what makes you significant. Acknowledge those blessings that you’ve been given. It’s because of those things that make you YOU that God is able to use you in ways he may not be able to somebody else. It’s our individual giftings that allow us to be strengthened in unity.
Don’t limit God’s plans for your life by limiting yourself. You are not defined by the world. None of us are perfect. But we serve a God who is MIGHTY and He is for us. Your identity lies within Christ and He says you are worthy.

One of the best pieces of advice that I’ve been given is “Let the thoughts of Christ be your filter.” When you’re feeling down about yourself, remember what He says about who you are. You don’t have to let those thoughts of self doubt occupy God’s space in your life. It’s a thought that you allow to run freely in your mind that begins to grow and becomes your reality. It’s up to you what that reality is.
“When you focus on the good, the good gets better.”
I hope this has inspired you today to be kind to yourself and pursue the you that you are in God – with confidence.
Xoxo,
Alexa
