I’ve definitely gone through phases of my life where I feel drained and tired and sluggish and my energy is just NOT there. And this can go on for weeks at a time and really affect how I show up in my life. How I take care of my body determines how well I’m able to take care of my family and my home. My biggest motivation for pursuing a healthy version of myself: how it makes me FEEL. The likelihood of reaching my daily goals is WAY higher when I’m intentional about practicing self-care. And while sometimes self-care looks like a face-mask or a glass of wine, taking care of my body is a vital part of making sure my “cup” is being filled.
With that being said, here’s why I take probiotics as a part of a healthy, well balanced lifestyle:
+ Probiotics promote a healthy gut flora. In a nutshell: it makes sure that your gut is populated by the RIGHT kind of bacteria!
+ Boosts your immune system: Your gut hosts the majority of your immune system! You need those GOOD strains of bacteria to help fight off sickness.
+ Improves digestion and absorption of minerals. This affects your energy and also helps to regulate weight! You can learn more about probiotics and weight loss HERE.
+ Reduces Inflammation: Probiotics help lower the levels of inflammation in the body.
+ Better Moods: The gut has been referred to as a “second brain” because it produces many of the same neurotransmitters that the brain does – including those responsible for regulating your MOOD (such as dopamine and serotonin.) Research has found that probiotics may help cognitive function and lower stress and anxiety.

When choosing the right probiotic, I want to make sure that I’m putting QUALITY ingredients into my body. High quality ingredients can significantly increase the effectiveness of any supplements that you take. I personally use Kaya Biotics. (Their products are made in Germany, using organic ingredients!) I take one in the morning and one before bed.
As always, feel free to drop any questions in the comments. I’d love to chat with you! Thanks so much for stopping by!
